About The Jolt

Lauren Brown is a senior at Rhode Island College who carries a passion for Starbucks Mocha Frappacunios, iPods, and fantasy baseball. You can catch her around campus at Oasis, the Rec Center, or just wandering aimlessly around the quad. She's an English major who loves to read and write and hates when the Daily Jolt doesn't get any love. Keep her entertained at lauren.brown@dailyjolt.com

Ashley Barge is a senior at RIC who has a slight infatuation with local bands, panera cookies, and shopping bargains. You can find her in the computer labs or at the beloved OASIS office. She's a Graphic Comm major who is artsy like whoa. She does NOT like to talk about graduation or finding a "real job." Tell her that everything will be alright at ashley.barge@dailyjolt.com

The Daily Jolt is composed of college students at schools around the country working collectively to create college-specific versions of The Daily Jolt.

Dissatisfied with the Web sites of our own schools, with mainstream portal sites, and with lame attempts on the part of companies to create sites for college students, we decided to create our own start page.

Because it was created by actual college students and is run by them, too, the site is actually useful, interesting, easy, and usually a lot of fun.

Originating at Amherst College, Project Jolt has expanded to several others and will soon be seen at many more campuses nationwide. All its members work together to innovate the design of the site as well as to localize the site for each college. Each college's Daily Jolt site is run by students at that school helping to ensure really useful content. The fact that we're all students also means you can write in with your suggestions for making the site more useful and we'll probably listen. For once, this is our site. That's it! Just remember, we're here for you! If you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns, please email us. We will always respond.
